Pergeseran Makna Fashion Hijab: Sebuah Kajian Budaya Pop di Kota Makassar

Abstract

This study aims to determine the cause of the presence of Hijabers community in Makassar, the development of hijab fashion among Hijabers in Makassar City, and shifting the meaning of conventional hijab to contemporary hijab. The method used in this research is qualitative research that is analyzed and written descriptively. Data collection techniques are conducted through in-depth interviews with direct observation, then documented. The results showed that the emergence of community Hijabers in Makassar City because of the similarity of vision and mission as well as the interests and talents of women veiled to form a container that is used to share knowledge in terms of fashion, religion, and talent, the development of hijab fashion among Hijabers in Makassar can be seen in terms of color hijab more full color and model hijab more character, shifting the meaning of conventional hijab to the contemporary hijab seen from the motivation of Hijabers berhijab that is because follow the trend and hijab function for Hijabers who are no longer oriented as a barrier
