Aktivitas Perempuan Pedagang di Pasar Sereng Duampanuae Desa Duampanuae Kabupaten Sinjai
Abstract
Rural is an area or center of the workforce in Indonesia. This provides clues that the employment problem there is quite serious, because employment opportunities that can accommodate the work is still based on the agricultural sector while the land that can be processed for agriculture is increasingly limited. Landowners (rich farmers) who have been able to protect small farmers by providing access to jobs are beginning to be commercial. Rich farmers strive to maximize their profits by reducing production costs. This condition is also increasingly complex when agricultural development programs proclaimed in rural areas. The government is increasingly active in applying modern technology, both production systems and organizations. As a result, the technology possessed by rural communities and traditional social organizations that had been the main support in rural communities began to shift. In terms of employment, women are increasingly marginalized. Therefore, women, including in Duampanuae Village, have a special strategy in dealing with the condition. They began to pursue trading activities without forgetting the activities in the agricultural sector. Trading activities are intended only to supplement household income, other than the agricultural sector.
