Potensi Bisnis Budidaya Sarang Burung Walet Terhadap Peningkatan Perekonomian Masyarakat di Kelurahan Pekkabata Kabupaten Pinrang

Abstract

This study aims to find out why the people of Pekkabata Village are interested in building a swallow's nest building. This study uses a type of qualitative research which is analyzed descriptively. Data collection techniques were obtained by field research through observation, interviews and documentation methods, involving several informants, namely swallow nest cultivators. The results showed that the Pekkabata Village community was interested in building a swallow's nest building because it was a long-term investment. People dare to make swallow as a side business because it is very lucrative. At the beginning of building the building, there was no hope for a better life, but if fortune can succeed in cultivating it, then all desires can be fulfilled, such as buying a vehicle, to building a house. To develop the swiftlet business, there are those who build new buildings, there are those who only add the building level, there are also those who buy the equipment needed in the building and they get funds from their harvest in the first building, and some even dare to sell their land just to build a swallow building. Likewise, to maintain this business in the midst of the same number of cultivators, cultivators must pay attention to the cleanliness of the building, the temperature and humidity that can affect the quality of the swallow nests produced.
